Back to downloads

Bitfocus Companion

  1. Download the Companion package from the downloads page.
  2. In Companion, open Modules and import the downloaded .tgz module package.
  3. Add Protons → Timlect in Connections.
  4. In Timlect, open Settings → Connections and enable Companion network control.
  5. Enter the address, port and password shown in Timlect into the Companion connection settings.
  6. Use the module presets, or assign actions and feedback to your buttons.

Use the same trusted network. PowerPoint actions require a Timlect build that supports them. If Companion controls your Stream Deck directly, avoid assigning the same device to the Elgato application at the same time.

PowerPoint Connector

Install the connector on the Windows computer running desktop PowerPoint.

  1. In Timlect, open Settings → Connections → PowerPoint Notes and choose Another computer.
  2. Install and open the connector on the PowerPoint computer.
  3. Enter Timlect's displayed IP address, port and six-digit pairing code, then connect.
  4. Start a slideshow in desktop PowerPoint, then open PN (Presenter + Notes) or ON (Operator + Notes) in Timlect.

Both computers must be reachable on the same trusted network. Allow Timlect through the Windows firewall on your Private network. If PowerPoint runs on the Timlect computer, choose This computer; no separate connector installation is needed.

Elgato Stream Deck

  1. Install the matching Timlect Windows build and Elgato Stream Deck software 7.1 or newer.
  2. Download the Timlect .streamDeckPlugin file, double-click it and confirm installation in Stream Deck.
  3. Open Timlect and keep Stream Deck control enabled under Settings → Connections.
  4. Allow the first local connection in Timlect when prompted. This approval applies to all Timlect keys.
  5. Add a Live Timer key or choose your transport and cue actions. No IP address or pairing code is required for direct local control.

If Companion owns the physical Stream Deck, choose which application controls it before changing your setup.

Compatibility and requirements

  • Timlect: Windows 10 or newer, x64. macOS is planned.
  • PowerPoint Notes: installed desktop Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows. Browser PowerPoint is not supported.
  • Connector: Windows with .NET Framework 4.8. Run it on the PowerPoint computer; no separate installation is needed for This computer mode.
  • Companion: tested with Companion 5.1.0; use matching Timlect and module releases.
  • Stream Deck: Elgato software 7.1 or newer on the same Windows PC. The plugin uses its supplied Node runtime.
  • Network outputs and connectors: devices must be reachable on your trusted network; allow the configured Timlect ports through Private-network firewall rules.

Timlect checks for desktop updates in Registration. Include beta releases is off by default. Enable it in Registration to check for beta updates. Companion, Stream Deck and PowerPoint Connector packages are installed separately.

Release archive

Version history includes the latest and earlier Timlect builds, their platform and release notes. Choose the matching platform and use Download beside the version you need.

Use the latest compatible build unless you need an earlier version for a specific show. Back up your .timlect show files before changing versions; files saved by a newer version may use features an older build does not support.

Technical details on the download page include the SHA-256 checksum for verifying a file. Beta releases are intended for testing before use at an event.
